How do I provide my staff
a platform
to Feel Heard
while valuing others?

We must meet people where they are.

Authentic Leadership Workshops

Our Authentic Leadership Program partners with award-winning historians and global leaders to create a safe, engaging environment for meaningful conversations about human and civil rights.

Over the past 17 years, we have developed impactful programs that have reached more than 10,000 students and adults. These efforts have gained national recognition for cultivating thoughtful leaders who bring unique perspectives while exploring history through important and relevant discussions.

SAA customizes each program to meet the needs of your organization, equipping employees and management teams with practical tools and insights to drive positive change.

Program Core

Our program is built on a foundation of human rights, emphasizing the inherent dignity and rights of every individual. Its core areas of focus are Civil Rights, the Holocaust, and the lasting effects of systemic injustice.

Our workshops engage global leaders who address challenging topics through storytelling and lived experiences. The Authentic Leadership Program provides participants with hands-on opportunities and a strong historical foundation to help them create meaningful change in their communities and workplaces.

We recognize that each participant begins their journey from a different place. Our approach provides a flexible platform that meets individuals where they are, fostering a culture of belonging, fairness, and respect for all.

Corporate Virtual Instructor Led Training

Our team develops a customized Authentic Leadership Workshop Series for each client. This 8–12 hour course can be delivered over several days or across multiple weeks, depending on the client’s needs and schedule.

Corporate On-site Led Training

The Authentic Leadership Team meets in person with executives and employees to facilitate dynamic workshops. Through hands-on engagement, we create a safe, collaborative environment that builds trust and connection quickly. We bring together a variety of perspectives and life experiences, encouraging thoughtful dialogue and shared learning.

On Demand Training Workshops

We also provide an On-Demand Option, allowing organizations to extend this learning opportunity to employees or members at their convenience. Thousands of participants can access our workshops at times that fit their schedules. Each Authentic Leadership Workshop is tailored to the specific needs and goals of the organization, ensuring meaningful and practical outcomes.

“In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

—Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We believe to achieve a common understanding,
the first step is to link our history to the present.

Black History

None of the major issues facing humanity can be fully understood or meaningfully addressed without access to the lessons of our past.
The Authentic Leadership Series provides important historical perspective that helps participants better understand the recurring challenges faced by the Black community. Through this learning, we gain a deeper awareness of history, its lasting impact, and our shared responsibility to help create a more just and informed future.

Holocaust

Holocaust: Why What We Do Matters

What we do matters. We must never forget the lessons of the Holocaust, and we must never repeat the mistakes of the past.

There may be times when we feel powerless to prevent injustice, but our responsibility begins with awareness. This program provides tools and insight to recognize the warning signs and conditions that can lead to communal violence, hatred, and human suffering.

It is important for us to see inequity when it exists, understand how hatred can grow, and recognize that even simple actions can help shift the course of destiny.

Systemic Racism

Some people have a deep misunderstanding of our nation’s history.

Most of us want to believe that anyone born in the United States has the opportunity to achieve anything they set out to accomplish. The Authentic Leadership Series helps illuminate the history of plantations, slavery, and Jim Crow, while creating space for honest reflection and deeper understanding.

Together, we examine how people of color were systemically excluded from full participation in society and how the effects of those systems continue to reverberate today. By understanding this history, we are better prepared to recognize injustice, challenge inequity, and take meaningful action toward a more inclusive future.

The Workshops

We are honored to partner with global leaders who bring firsthand experience, wisdom, and insight to some of the most pressing issues of our time. SAA’s curriculum has been shaped through close collaboration with individuals whose lives and work are deeply connected to the history of the Holocaust, genocide, the Civil Rights Movement, and the ongoing fight against racism and systemic injustice.

Through powerful storytelling and hands-on activities, our workshops create meaningful opportunities for reflection, learning, and personal growth. Our flexible framework meets participants where they are, making each experience relevant, accessible, and impactful for people at every stage of their journey.

The Authentic Leadership Program is grounded in understanding, respect, and shared responsibility. It helps participants broaden their perspective, deepen empathy, and become more thoughtful, engaged leaders prepared to recognize injustice and contribute to meaningful change.

Workshop Goals

Every organization and participant begins this journey with unique goals, expectations, and life experiences. The Authentic Leadership Program is designed to guide, support, and empower participants not to provide one-size-fits-all answers to the complex issues facing our world today.

We recognize that differences in experience, beliefs, and values shape how each person engages in these conversations. What may feel like a small step for one participant may represent a significant milestone for another. Our goal is to create an environment where each person can grow at their own pace while working toward meaningful, sustainable outcomes.

Rather than assuming we understand your goals from the beginning, we provide an interactive framework and a supportive environment where participants are encouraged to listen, reflect, ask questions, and consider new perspectives. Through this process, participants are better prepared to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and take thoughtful action in their schools, organizations, and communities.

We achieve this by:
• Introducing practical listening techniques and respectful communication tools
• Encouraging meaningful dialogue through one-on-one conversations, small group discussions, and larger group sessions
• Building trust and respect between participants, facilitators, and the broader organization
• Promoting a “listen to understand” and “lead with curiosity” mindset
• Fostering a sense of community that connects personal values with organizational purpose
• Highlighting shared principles that inspire growth, reflection, and positive change
• Creating engaging opportunities for participants to connect across generations, backgrounds, and life experiences

“We have found that SAA’s Authentic Leadership program presents Human Rights and our nation’s history in a powerful and engaging way. The unique approach to delivering this content deeply resonates with the diverse backgrounds of our membership. The Washington Officials Association looks forward to continuing our partnership as we work together to create lasting, positive change in the culture of officiating across the state of Washington.”

— Todd Stordahl, Washington Officials Association
Executive Director

“My time with SAA was truly transformative. It opened my eyes to the filters we all use to view the world—and how those filters contribute to the challenges that persist in our country today.

Through the work we did with SAA, I gained the confidence and skills to lean into the real, often uncomfortable conversations that we, as leaders, must be willing to have.

Change can start with a single conversation. If we hope to eliminate inequality, we must be willing to have those conversations—in our offices, classrooms, boardrooms, and courtrooms. SAA gave me the foundation to do just that.”
